Hoje vou escrever-vos sobre o joão. E peço-vos que leiam até ao fim e com o coração, não apenas com os olhos. Sei que é muito mas é impossível escrever pouco sobre o João.
Tive o privilégio de me cruzar com este menino, e desde então todas as semanas me surpreendo e me emociono com esta vida tão especial. Estou a trabalhar num projeto fotográfico documental, sobre a vida do João e acompanho-o de perto a ele e à sua família. Foi o João que me convidou a fazê-lo porque acredita na fotografia. O João não fala e comunica com o mundo através da escrita. Acredita nas formas alternativas de comunicação e escreveu-me que a fotografia é uma delas.
O João tem um sonho… recuperar das limitações físicas que o prendem, para poder vir a ser médico. Quer ser um médico “holístico” e diz ter a capacidade de curar as pessoas através de uma energia universal à qual acede. Não lê livros nem vê televisão mas escreve sobre tudo o que acontece no mundo, fazendo verdadeiras dissertações sobre o futuro da humanidade, educação, política, relações afetivas e espiritualidade. Escreve sobre todos estes temas com uma rapidez e lucidez estonteantes, como se realmente tivesse acesso a outra dimensão de conhecimento e consciência que nos está barrada a nós, seres “normais”. O seu livro, lançado pela Porto Editora em 2014, foi muito falado nos meios de comunicação social, e está à venda para ajudar esta causa. Com um brilhante prefácio do Valter Hugo Mãe, este livro traz mensagens valiosas a todos os seres humanos que se entreguem a ler, do João e da mãe do João. Alguns terão questionado a validade deste livro, e não os julgo, mas a minha presença na vida do João como espetadora desta verdade improvável, obriga-me a dizer-vos que é o João o autor de tais palavras sábias.

“Eu quero que a Sara faça o trabalho.
Acho que temos que explorar múltiplos aspetos e a fotografia é um deles. O projeto vai continuar a crescer…
… O que a fotografia capta são momentos de intensidade emocional. A Sara tem na objetiva o poder de contar histórias e captar a alma sem palavras.
As almas comunicam sem palavras mas o coração tudo entende.
O coração, como já falei, é a consciência, e as pessoas ligam-se e desligam-se através da energia que ele emana.
O que a Sara tem que demonstrar é que a palavra não é um meio absoluto de comunicação.
O autismo obriga os seres humanos a abrir o coração e a aprender a comunicar através de outros meios que o ser humano também tem.”

Today I want to write about João. Please read it all with your heart, not just your eyes. I know it's a lot but it is impossible to write less about João.
I had the privilege to meet this boy, and since then he won’t stop surprising me every week and making me feel emotional about him. I am working on a documentary photographic project about João’s life and following him and his family closely. It was him who invited me to do so, because he believes in photography. João does not speak at all and communicates with the world through writing. Therefore, he believes in alternative forms of communication and wrote to me that photography is one of them.
João has a dream ... to recover from physical limitations that hold him back, order to become a doctor. He wants to be a "holistic" doctor and claims to have the ability to heal people through a universal energy that he can access. He doesn’t read any books or watches TV, but writes about everything that happens in the world, making amazing dissertations on the future of humanity, education, politics, personal relationships and spirituality. He can write about all these issues with a such quick and stunning clarity, as if he really has access to another dimension of knowledge and awareness that is the barred to us, "normal" beings. His book, published by Porto Editora in 2014, was advertised in the media, and its sales are supporting this cause. With a brilliant preface from Valter Hugo Mãe, this book provides valuable messages to all human beings that are open to read it, from João and his mother.
Some have probably questioned the validity of this book, which in a way is expectable, but my presence in João’s life witnessing this unlikely and magical truth, makes me want to tell everyone about the veracity of it: it is him the author of every word you will read, even though I can not explain to you where all this knowledge is coming from.

I think we have to explore multiple aspects and photography is one of them. The project will continue to grow ...
... What the photograph captures are moments of emotional intensity. Sara has, in her lengths, the power of storytelling and capture the soul without words.
The souls communicate without words and the heart understands everything.
The heart, as I said before, is consciousness, and people turn up and turn off through the energy it exudes .
What Sara has to show is that the word is not an absolute means of communication.
Autism compels human beings to open their hearts and learn to communicate through other means that humans also have. "
