É um tema que desperta em mim um imenso entusiasmo e a motivação para produzir imagens.
Documentar histórias e salvaguardar as memórias.
Sempre guardei documentos. Fotografias, cartas, notas. Não sou apegada a "coisas", e até tenho uma tendência cada vez maior para me livrar de tudo aquilo que não preciso.
Mas as fotografias, as notas e as cartas, sejam manuscritas ou digitais, são um rasto da vida que tento preservar de forma cuidada e organizada. São os nossos testemunhos, são aquilo que ficará de nós.
No decorrer do meu projeto pessoal "Viagem no Tempo" tenho andado a construir o arquivo digital das fotografias que habitavam numa caixa, em casa da minha avó. Decidi reavivar aquelas memórias. Mexer, remexer, rir e chorar. Conservá-las de forma segura, para que jamais se percam. Permitir que se multipliquem por todas as pessoas da família que as queiram voltar a sentir, aproveitando as benesses da era digital...
Naquela época as fotografias tinham outro valor. Hoje são fáceis, descartáveis, esquecidas em memórias externas sem legenda. Antigamente, oferecer uma fotografia a alguém era sinal de grande amizade e respeito. Era algo mesmo muito importante.
Em quase todas as imagens se encontra escrito no verso: “Ofereço esta fotografia como sinal da minha amizade". É algo que parece ter o seu quê de solene.
Para mim ainda tem.No que diz respeito a este tema cada imagem que capto é com a mais solene das intenções… a de contar uma história que o tempo não apague.

Family Documental photography.
It is one of the issues that mostly arouses my enthusiasm and motivation to produce images.
Documenting stories and safeguarding the memories.
I always kept documents. Photographs, letters, notes. I am not attached to material stuff, actually I have this urge to get rid of anything I don’t need.
But photographs, notes and letters, whether handwritten or digital, are a track of life I try to preserve in a careful and organized manner. It is our testimony, what will remain of us.
Working on my personal project “A Journey back in Time" I've been building the digital archive of photographs that dwelt in a box in my grandmother's house. I decided to revive and stir those memories. Laugh and cry with it. Keep them safely, so they are never lost. Allow them to multiply between all the family members that wish to feel them again, enjoying the blessings of the digital age ...
At that time the photographs had such a meaningful value. Today photographs are sometimes too easy, disposable, forgotten in external memory devices without subtitles. Back in those days, offering a photograph to someone was a sign of great friendship and respect. It was something really important.
In almost all the prints, I found something like this, written on the back: "I offer this photograph as a sign of my friendship" It's something that seems kind of solemn.
For me it still is. Regarding this matter, I capture images with a solemn intention… to tell a story that time will not erase.
